On May 2nd, 2026, elections will take place across Hounslow, to elect new Councillors to run Hounslow Council. The same will happen across London, in many cities across England and in Wales and Scotland for their devolved Assemblies.
Your Party will be standing candidates. By that time, we will have a detailed programme for electors to consider. However, we can say at this stage that:
- We will not make cuts to Council services and will seek to recover service levels to those that operated in 2010, before Council services were drastically cut
- We will seek to prevent there being an increase in the Council Tax (but we recognise that the Council Tax for 2026 will be set in March 2026, before the elections
- We will seek to ensure privately rented homes and Council owned homes are brought up to an acceptable standard and that tenants have security of tenure – no more no-fault evictions.
- We will monitor the standard of homes more thoroughly and will ensure that landlords maintain rented homes to an acceptable standard within a very short period
- We will re-instate early learning provision recognising that pre-school learning is important for children and parents alike.
- We will cut the amount spent by the Council on allowances to leading Councillors, while ensuring that all Councillors are able to give sufficient time to the role of being a Councillor at no loss to themselves,
- We will publish regularly the amount claimed by Councillors.
- We will ensure that all Councillors are engaged with their local community, local groups and activities, that they respond to concerns raised by local people and that the Council as a whole is a ‘listening and responding’ Council. Your views are vital to ensuring services are delivered as you wish.
